“Our Daily Bread” Business OpportunitiesIn a country of massive unemployment and pathetic annual average income, we do our best at helping people start small businesses. Some businesses are for the mission to support it, and give jobs. Others are to help the beneficiary. The micro enterprise program has been offered to 8 ex-pequeños so far who meet pre-defined criteria. The loans are typically range from $4,000 to $5,000 in total, and reimbursement is through service or direct payment. Alongside this, we have also made a few small businesses already up and running to hire those who cannot create their own business including: internet and long distance, funeral services, medical radiology and laboratory, garbage and refuse management, and assembly of paper mache coffins, to name a few. The goal of some of the businesses is to generate funds in-country, providing work and relieving a social stress, and funding a work of mercy (like one of our schools). We are grateful if we find $50,000 a year for this initiative.
Lending A HandAdditionally, while most employees of NPFS and St. Luke Programs support themselves and their family, personal tragedy can strike at any time. Financial assistance is offered for death and illness in the family when necessary.
